Day 5: Clean Windows and Windowsills Inside
Welcome to day 5 of the ‘31 Days of Deep Cleaning Your Home‘ series!
Today’s task is to clean your windows and windowsills inside.

Start by filling a bucket about half way with water. Add a few drops of dish soap and a splash of vinegar. Along with your microfiber cloth, this is what you will use to scrub your window glass and windowsill.

Work from the top down on your windows, cleaning the upper glass first, then the lower glass. You don’t need to squeeze out your rag very much, you want it pretty wet. Lastly, you will want to wash your window ledge with your wet rag.

Use your squeegee to wipe the window. You can use a dry cloth to clean up any stray drips.

I use a solution of half vinegar and half water to spray the inside of the window track. (You could use pretty much any kind of all purpose cleaner).

Wipe out the window track with your microfiber cloth.

Use a q-tip to get into the corners.

Keep spraying, wiping and using your q-tips to get the window track clean! This is as good as mine was going to get.

(A reader suggested brushing the track with a stiff brush and vacuuming out the dirt before spraying it. This is a great idea and I am sure it would cut down on the amount of time you have to scrub it! )
Step back and enjoy your shiny window!
